Vineyard Area
Drawn from a vineyard in southern Oregon called "Red Hill." Due to its elevation and lack of Coast Range protection, Red Hill Douglas County experiences cooler growing season temperatures than many other growing areas of Oregon.
Soil
Iron-rich, red volcanic soils (known as Jory) that are nearly identical to the terroir found in Dundee Hills of Willamette Valley.
Elevation
800 and 1,200 feet
Exposure
Various southern and eastern exposures.
Vinification
After harvest and destemming grapes are cold-soaked followed by a 12-15-day maceration. The solids are then gently pressed and the must is left to settle in temperature-controlled stainless steel prior to being racked to barrels where malolactic fermentation occurs.
Maturation
Approximately 7-8 months in a combination of French oak barrels of varying age and toast and stainless
